Strange Lines on 3D Layout

Hi,

I have done a simple 3D layout using the YafaRay engine, but I have a few strange lines which look like shadows.
I'm using a solid black for the floor and a solid white for the sky with the time set to 1am.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Strange Lines on 3D Layout

The lines top left and top right??

Try to uncheck "ceilings" and see if they disappear.
If ceilings are needed, make sure all <!> walls have the same height.

Re: Strange Lines on 3D Layout

Hi Hans,

Yes that's what it was.

The outer wall was only 50cm high, that's because the layout is in the middle of the building and I was trying to encapsulate the floor by making the walls smaller and creating a room to shade in with a texture.

If that makes sense?

All the other walls are 250cm high.

Thanks.

Re: Strange Lines on 3D Layout

Hi,

I'm getting a bit fed up with these lines appearing. The time is set to 1am in the morning and I'm still getting shadows.

Any ideas how to stop this?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Strange Lines on 3D Layout

Hard to say without access to the original file.
Most often these are ceiling parts, caused by ceilings between walls of uneven height.

Uncheck "Ceilings" in all rooms to (try and) solve it.

Re: Strange Lines on 3D Layout

I think this is due to large rooms. Does it happen with both the default and YafaRay rendering engines?

Re: Strange Lines on 3D Layout

Hi Hans,

Do you know where I can get a closed door from, as like you said I think that is what is causing these random shadows?

Thanks.
