Program Improvements

Is there a way I can show a roof plan on a house I've drawn?

Also, when drawing walls, I don't see a way to draw like a 7' long wall. In AutoCad, it would be called a snap. You can draw an East/West Wall, South wall, West to East Wall, then a North wall and the corners will snap together.

Perhaps it's because I'm relatively now to this software but, I'd like to be able to take advantage of houseplans that others have drawn so that I can make changes for my clients.

See the FAQ How can I create a roof on top of a house?

Also, when drawing walls, I don't see a way to draw like a 7' long wall. In AutoCad, it would be called a snap. You can draw an East/West Wall, South wall, West to East Wall, then a North wall and the corners will snap together.
I feel that you look for how to join walls at the end. Double click to join the 4th wall to the 1st one or use Plan > Join walls menu item afterwards.

Perhaps it's because I'm relatively now to this software but, I'd like to be able to take advantage of houseplans that others have drawn so that I can make changes for my clients.
SH3D files contain all the required information to be edited on another computer where Sweet Home 3D is installed, so you can exchange them without problems.
