3D rotation of an Object

Hi,

I am drawing an attic with a pitched roof.

I have designed the roof in SweetHome and saved it as object.

I then import it as object (furniture import) in the main draw of the attic and in included in the library in the category of miscellaneous objects.

Issue is that I need to rotate now the roof in 3D in order to align it to the below sloping walls .

I need to use all 3 axis or rotation directly on the CAD. Below the image:

Is it possible ?

thanks !

Re: 3D rotation of an Object

You can’t rotate an object around 3 axes in Sweet Home 3D, except in the 2nd step of the import wizard.

Is it possible ?

Yes.
Select the object after insert in plan;
Right click->modify furniture->set the rotation angle on 3 axis.
Will don't work until You selected again after insertion.

Yes,thanks, i tried but it is pretty dufficult to pick the right angle, rotation 3d, and furthermore once i change the angle it goes in totaly wrong position. Maybe i have to select it again as you suggest...
Would the below help to draw the roof of my attic ?

Re: 3D rotation of an Object

For simple roofs could help but for some little more complex don't.
Especially if you want to insert some windows or an unregulated shape of roof.
Is not quite a simple task but with perseverance You will succeed.
Sometime You need to elevate more than necessary to be able to rotate, then set the correct elevation and orientation.

Do it like Puybaret wrote: reimport your roof and turn it to the position you need in the 2nd step of the import wizard.
