Displaying models on a website

I must be missing something, as I am very new to sh3d. I was able to create beautiful models that look great on the SweetHome 3D viewer when I create them.

BUT I can't get them to render nicely on a website. I export as .obj, and they show up using plugins VRM360 and Canvasio3D (and on Blender) but they are mostly (but not all) grey, no floor, no exterior siding on the walls.

This seems crazy that there is a huge community of sh3d users, the ability to create beautiful models, but no way to show them off.

How are others displaying their models to people??? It seems I have Rapunzel locked in the tower and I want to set her free!

Thanks for suggesting a WordPress plugin or other way to display the .obj models.

Joe

Re: Displaying models on a website

You could try the Sweet Home 3D JS Viewer or if you can't host you SH3D files with JS scripts, use the Exported homes manager.

Thank you Emmanuel. It looks like WordPress won't allow .sh3d files, so your solution #2 will be the way I'm going for now. The models look great and users can figure it out easily. Thanks!

Hi!

If Wordpress allow you to insert other web-pages as a frames, you can try to embed the model, this for example https://woodmouse.ru/takedom/us/2i.html

Some day I also going to make WP site and put my models there

Daniel,

Thanks! That looks awesome.

How did you convert your .sh3d file to a webpage? (https://woodmouse.ru/takedom/us/2i.html)

Re: Displaying models on a website

It seems the way to display these models on a website is via Export to HTML5 but I can't get that to work.

I downloaded the plugin and use the "Tools" to Export to HTML5 that creates a .zip file, a library folder, viewHome.html, and viewHomeInOverlay.html.

What now?? I don't see a way to use any of this in my WordPress website. How do I create an .html file, or other file that I can use to display the model?

Thanks for your help. I read the initial HTML5 post, and it says this may be the hardest part, but I can't see any help.

Thank you
