Re: For big family
Hi Bob, traditional log houses are still proving their worth and if there is local access to wood, not necessarily that expensive. Btw, there are also some modern techniques that have brought the log style back into fashion (hollow logs, with special insulation and infrastructure (ventilation, electricity etc) built into the logs. Sort of fake, but they can look pretty good.

Depends on your need for accuracy, but you can simulate a log/timber frame style house with textures and extending the walls. A couple of demo textures in SF 3D models 335, (see threads 5178 and 5434).

ok

Re: For big family
.. and a lot of planning and building - hope you get to see your project materialise. In Europe there are some Baltic companies specialising in custom log houses, made to measure, prefabricated, shipped and assembled on site. And some traditional builders that make them without costing the earth. ok

Re: For big family
I have the idea that you guys have much more nice furniture. Let me put it like this: are you willing to share your libraries?

Even better: could you guys please add all the nice stuff to the 3D Contributions library: http://www.sweethome3d.com/importModels.jsp
?

After I install Sweet Home 3D, I import all those libraries, it will be nice if more of the furniture was added by default.

Re: For big family
While I fail to se the harm in discussing the furniture used in presentations in the Gallery, by all means, no need to add electrocardiogram to the mammography before we run out of capital letters. So why not go to thread 7238 instead. ok

I Think that if there is no direct link with the current topic, thank to open your own subject in the right place.
